【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportprovidesguidelinesforsettinggauging(ortest)limitsinsupportofaccept/rejectdecisionsinworkpieceinspections,instrumentverifications,andgeneralconformancetestswhereuncertainnumericaltestresultsarecomparedwithspecifiedrequirements.Inacceptingorrejectingworkpiecesorinstrumentsbasedontheresultsofinspectionmeasurements,thepresenceofunavoidablemeasurementuncertaintyintroducestheriskofmakingerroneousdecisions.Byimplementingadecisionrulethatdefinesarangeofacceptablemeasurementresults,onecanbalancetherisksofrejectingconformingworkpiecesorinstrumentsandacceptingnonconformingones.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedasascreeningtesttoevaluatetheperformanceofappliedcoatingsystemsandothermaterialsdesignedtoresistbiofoulingsettlement.Thedegreeandtypeoffoulingwillvarydependingontheenvironment.Differencesingeographiclocationoftestsites,timeofyearwhenpanelsareexposed,andweatherconditionsfromoneyeartothenext,canaffectresults.Suchvariablesareaccountedtakingafoulingcensusonanontoxicsurface.Fortheexposuretobevalid,thenontoxicsurfaceshouldshowheavyfoulingaccretion.1.1Thispracticecoversaproceduretotestabiofoulingresistantcoatingsystemsorantifoulingsystems,orboth,whensubjectedtoinsitupartialimmersionexposure.Thisenhancessettlementofcertainmarinefoulingorganismsandincreasetherateofpossiblephysicaldeterioration.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
